General Description

After a complete reconstruction, the Golden Star Hotel has now reopened its ancient gate to a hotel of historical beauty right moments from Prague Castle in the center of the city . The first written notes of the Hotel date back to 1372 when it was owned by the Mayor of Hradcany. During the next centuries the House changed its owners several times. Among then we can find Czech kings´servants, members of different religious orders and many important Prague burghers. In 1723-32, when owned by the official of Czech Royal Chamber Baltazar Knapp, the House saw a thorough and expensive reconstruction that put it in the today´s shape. The recently finished recontruction preserved the original architectural elements and completed them carefully with luxury facilities of modern way of life. Just next to the elevator you can find a 270 year old staircase, you can see the original ornamental plastering of the ceiling, but also the most modern bathroom. The period wooden furniture is in perfect accordance with the historical atmosphere of the Hotel, but at the same time it is treated with the latest wax technique, without ecologically detrimental varnish. As you would expect from such a historical building, all the guests rooms at the Golden star Hotel enjoy a mix of both modern comfort and old world charm. The facrics and funiture all add to the character of the rooms with each one being a slightly different shape and size from the last. All roomss are also ensuite and feature all the ammenities taht you would expect from a 4 star hotel inclusing Satellite TV, Minibar and Safe. The restaurant at the Golden Star Hotel is set in a the converted cellar which makes for a fantastic atmosphere in the evenings. The chefs provide a constantly changing menu including traditional Czech dishes and international favourites.
